Stop. Slow down. Drink Tea.

The small things are sometimes the much bigger things. One of our guests that travelled from Iran taught us a big lesson the other day: Stop. Slow down. Drink tea.

This wasn't just tea out of a packaged bag...this was loose leaf tea brewed for just under 30 minutes. Tea with dried rose buds from Iran, which opened up and tickled your senses.

We were taught how to properly enjoy this drink from a far away land. The process of brewing is slow, the odds of getting some of the dried tea leaves stuck in your teeth were high. Putting the sugar cube in your mouth before you sipped on the piping hot liquid was key to waking up your taste buds and adding just the right amount of sweet to the floral notes in the tea.

It's more important than ever to remember in a constantly bustling world, to stop, slow down, and drink tea.

Thank you Mehdi for sharing your tea, knowledge, and moments of stillness in an ever moving world. We look forward to learning more about the cultures of the world in our little hostel in Boise, Idaho.
